The American Heart Association has built a nationwide network of Training Centers to expand the reach of its Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) educational programs and strengthen every link in the Chain of Survival. Through this effort, more individuals are empowered to perform high-quality CPR, operate automated external defibrillators, and apply both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) techniques during resuscitation. The Spencer Hospital Training Center (SHTC) was created with the same mission — to enhance ECC education and improve survival outcomes across Northwest Iowa and beyond. By aligning with this initiative, SHTC aims to ensure excellence in emergency cardiac response and to support instructors in providing top-tier training that saves lives.

As an affiliated instructor with the Spencer Hospital Training Center, participants benefit from competitive pricing on AHA course completion cards, quick processing times, and simplified administrative procedures. The center also offers ongoing assistance to help ensure compliance with AHA standards, consistent communication regarding new or updated policies, and access to valuable resources that support course quality and delivery. In addition, SHTC provides regular instructor updates, mentoring, and new instructor courses to foster professional growth and maintain program integrity. Dedicated to being a one-stop resource for all ECC training needs, the Spencer Hospital Training Center remains committed to promoting excellence, efficiency, and continued education in lifesaving skills.
